The Demo & The Fitting
How new hearing aids go from a prescription on paper to a natural part of how you hear. Two appointments for new users. One for experienced wearers. Precision programming, unhurried testing, and adjustments included for life.

The process differs depending on whether this is your first pair of hearing aids or your third. Both paths lead to the same standard of care.
You'll come in for the Demo appointment, wear the aids for one week in your real life, and return for the Fitting appointment to fine-tune everything based on what you experienced.
See the process Path BYou already know how hearing aids work. We go straight to the Fitting appointment — programmed from your latest audiogram, verified with real ear measurement, and tuned to your preferences.
See the processAbout 60 minutes. This is where your hearing aids go from a factory box to something programmed precisely for your ears.
Your aids are programmed to your audiogram — the exact hearing prescription we captured at your evaluation. Every frequency, every ear, matched to your loss.
We confirm that the sound your aids are delivering matches what your hearing prescription calls for. Where appropriate, we use in-ear measurements to verify. Every adjustment is based on what you actually hear.
We select the dome or earmold that seals correctly and sits comfortably. If the fit isn't right, sound leaks and comfort suffers — so we take our time here.
How to put them in, take them out, charge or change batteries, clean them, and pair them with your phone. You leave knowing how to live with them, not just wear them.
Wear your new hearing aids in your real life for one week. Take notes. We'll use everything you notice to fine-tune the settings at your Fitting appointment.
Wear the aids 2–4 hours a day in quiet spaces — reading, cooking, watching TV at a normal volume. Let your brain get acquainted.
Extend to 6–8 hours a day. Add one-on-one conversations, phone calls, and short outings — a coffee shop, a walk with a friend.
Full days of wear. Restaurants, group gatherings, church, music, driving. Notice what works beautifully — and what needs adjustment.
For new users, this is the follow-up after your trial week. For experienced wearers, this is the appointment itself. Either way, it's the moment your hearing aids become genuinely yours.
We start with your trial week notes. Every situation you flagged becomes an adjustment target — the too-loud dishwasher, the muddy voices at dinner, the sharpness of tapping on the kitchen counter.
You know how hearing aids work. We skip the introduction and go straight to precision. Your aids are programmed to your most recent audiogram, verified in your own ear canal, and tuned to your preferences from day one.
Two people with the same hearing loss can prefer very different settings. We take the time to test how you actually hear — with your family's voice, in real listening conditions, and, where appropriate, with in-ear measurements to confirm what your hearing aid is delivering. Nothing is left to assumption, and nothing is rushed.
The world will sound different. That's the point — and it's also why we prepare you for it.
Consonants — the "s," "sh," "f," and "th" sounds that carry meaning in speech — will feel crisp again, sometimes almost too crisp at first. This is the exact reason speech becomes clearer in noisy places like restaurants.
Louder, deeper, sometimes "boomy" or as if you're speaking into a barrel. This is occlusion — see the section below for what it is, why it happens, and exactly how we solve it.
Paper crinkling, water running, footsteps on tile, the refrigerator humming. You haven't heard these clearly in years. Your brain will learn to filter them again — usually within a few weeks.
The real prize. In restaurants, gatherings, and car rides, following one voice against background chatter gets meaningfully easier. Modern hearing aids do most of this work automatically.
Music regains its high notes. TV becomes intelligible without cranking the volume. Many aids stream your TV or phone directly, so the sound goes into your ears exactly the way you want it.
A high-pitched whistle means feedback — usually a fit issue, sometimes wax touching the receiver. Modern aids catch most of it automatically. Anything left is what we fix at your Fitting.
When your ear canal is closed by a hearing aid dome, the sound of your own voice — which travels through the bones of your skull as much as through the air — becomes trapped inside the canal. The result is a louder, deeper, sometimes "boomy" version of your voice. Chewing and swallowing can feel louder too.
This is called the occlusion effect, and it's one of the most common reasons new users abandon their hearing aids. We treat it as a solvable problem, not something you have to get used to.
How we resolve it:
Hearing aids restore the sound. Your brain relearns what to do with it. This takes weeks, not days — and it's completely normal.
Everything sounds louder and sharper than expected. Your own voice feels unfamiliar. This is your brain waking up to sounds it hasn't processed in years.
Everyday sounds start feeling ordinary again. Speech gets progressively clearer. Occlusion diminishes as your brain adjusts and as we fine-tune the settings.
Your hearing aids become invisible to your conscious mind — you just hear. Groups, restaurants, and outdoors all feel dramatically easier than before.
Adjustments, cleanings, and check-ins are included for the life of your hearing aids. This is what "lifetime care" actually means.

End of your Arizona 30-day trial period. Fully adjusted, or fully returnable.
A second refinement after your brain has fully adjusted. This visit alone earns most of your outcome.
Full clean and inspection, updated hearing test, refresher on any new features.
The Demo and Fitting come after your free evaluation. Start there — and we'll walk you through the rest of it together.
